I have a 10 gallon tank on my desk that currently has a zoo med 80GPH canister filter and a duetto 50 secondary filter keeping it clean, but I want to consolidate to one filter and save some desk space. I realize also the 50 will create some turbulence, so I will use the flow control to turn it down. Which filter would you recommend?

Welcome to the forum Radiance.
No amount of filtration will make up for overstocking so go with a right size or slightly larger than nominal filter. You will be doing large frequent water changes to deal with the nitrate build up. The filter can never do that for you.

The tank is not overstocked, I'm just wondering what will do a better job.

If it is not overstocked, I must ask why you were considering a filter meant for a tank 5 times the size of the one you have. The words "large bioload" in your title led me to think it might well be overstocked. Many people try to compensate for heavy stocking with a filter and the simple truth is that it just does not work.
