Does anyone here have any experience getting fish through Aquabid? My betta of 3+ years passed today, and now we're looking for a replacement. Any sugestions? I think we're leaning towards a Halfmoon.

Thanks,

Hi

I have bought several fish including bettas thru aquabid. Have never had the 1st problem. I always look at how many feedbacks the seller has and what they say. I normally dont buy from anyone with less than 50 as a rule. But if the fish I am looking at is exceptional or one I just have to have I sometimes bend my own rules. The down side of aquabid is the cost of shipping. Its expensive no matter what you do. The fish price per se is ok but when you add shipping it sets the price way up. Something you should consider. But if the fish is what I am looking for then shipping is less important.

JIM :good:

I actually really like this fish:

Is that a good price (looks like you add ~$25 for shipping)?

I'm looking for something that I can put in my office that will really amaze people who have little knowledge of bettas. Where else should I be looking?

hehe I don't go on AB very often because I allways end up spending WWWWAAAAYYYY to much money :) Its best if you can fined fish inside your country , though, so you don't spend an arm and a leg paying the shipping to import.

It's probably going to end up costing you around $40 to have that fish shipped to you. I'd recommend thehalfmoonspecialist on AB. He's out of California, and has nice fish, so you could get a nice little guy, and pay less on shipping. I believe he has a lot of half moons posted now.

it is much easier an\d cheaper if you can find decent fish from somewhere in the us...though I have gotten fish from aquabid that were over seas and the fish are fantastic.

my sister has some young cts that are getting ready to go, but like constantine said the half moom specilist on aquabid does have some real nice fish.

yea newfishey go sell my fish, hehe what they are now 12 weeks and ready to go to new homes on saterday!!!
hmmmm i might have to keep the tri colored butterfly though hmmmmmmmm butterfly  , lol sorry!

I looked on aquabid for awhile and found a couple of sellers who are within driving distance (like an hour away) so then my "shipping" cost is just the gas, which is like 10 dollars. You could try to find people that live near you, there probably are some.
