Hi, does anyone else with this tank have condensation problems with in?
I am going to be making my own condensation cover for it, but in the mean time the water seems to condensate on the inside of the hood. Then because the hood is actually sat over the outside of the glass, I get water dripping down the outside of the back of the tank.
Surely this can't be by 'design' ? I really like this tank and cabinet, but just cannot believe that it doesn't come with a condensation cover, especially considering the 'super size' holes cut in the back of the hood (for skimmers etc). I'm sure the wall behind the tank also 'feels' damp at the moment as any 'airborne' condensation that leaves the tank is directed straight at the wall behind it :(

As I said, I've resorted to looking into making my own condensation cover for the tank, but I'm interested in other peoples experience with this tank and condensation.

I don't have this tank but I know what you mean, I have a Rena and use the hood it came with which isn't great unfortunately, but I managed to remedy the drip problem by wiping the lid more often. Making your own cover glass would be a good idea, my other aquarium has one and I've never had a drop down the side :)

Do you have the old wooden style hood or the new plastic ones?
They used to come with wooden hoods which were notorious for this exact problem, and have since redesigned them and now use plastic ones which are siliconed to the tank itself to stop the moisture

Mine is plastic, but leaks down the back where it has two HUUUGE cutaways for attaching skimmers etc :(

Is it possible you could silicone around the cutaways to stop water getting down there?

Not really, I'll take a look, but as I didn't know I was going to have this problem until all was up and running, the back of the tank is quite close to the wall, so I don't think I can get there. Also even if I silicon that bit, it will just stop the water 'getting out', whereas I think I need to stop it getting there in the first place.
Condensation cover has got to be the way to go, it just takes so long to get one sorted!
