Does anyone know if Aqua One equipment and tanks in particular are any good in terms of quality?

Cheers

I have the 90 litre 620 and it is very very good quality. On the look out for a 980 now :D

It's ok. I think Rena would be better in terms of quality. I got my two AquaOne tanks second hand. It is not leaking, which is the most important thing I guess. The finish isn't the best, by that I mean where the plastic and glass meet it doesn't always flush was well as one would like it to.

Go and see one for yourself in the LFS. Around my area (Nottingham) only World of Waters keep them in stock in store. They are not stocked in my two "local" MA.

Thanks for your replys, what do you think of the tank in the link below? Its local so I'm tempted but not sure how much it would be worth?

We do have a World of Water in Swindon so will have to have a look.

Thanks again.

i have the aqua one 850 which is 165 litre i like it but then again it is my first tank

Personally I think that's too much for a third hand tank, even with all the external pump and being 5ft. That's just me I guess.

Our "local" WoW only has the curve glass ones (my tanks).

+1 that is a £200 all day long inc all the extras which are worth about 20p :good:

In terms of quality... Aqua One are great! In reality? A lot of their products are outdated. I had an Aquastyle 620T and the filtration was godawful but to be fair, no worse than any other badly designed tank thats too tall and ten times beter than a LOT of tanks on the market.

When people say Aqua One people automatically think of their "Aqua Style" tanks that they are desperately trying to move away from! Some of their tanks are amazing!

Their redesigned 320T(tall) with an internal is a fantastic tank! Especially as a first tank!

The Horizon tanks are stunning, i would buy one! One day i will set one up as a marine tank :) I like them!

Their Evo tanks are great for value and the Aquience tanks are really pretty and have different sizes to a lot of tanks on the market.

Their filters are good, i'd say they could be updated but they have been updated and renamed by another certain company :p

They are a hugely underrated company and if more people demanded their products, we would see more on the market, saddly, people dont seem to be able to moveon past old mistakes.

Oh yeah, i also used their pond filters (claritec) with the pump and UV on my larger fishtanks and unlike the blasted Laguuna ones, the didnt pee water *everywhere*!!!

I have an Aqua One Vivarium for my Chameleon. On the UV test, the wire mesh doesnt destroy even a third of the ammount that the useless Exoterra Vivariums do! The mesh on top of Exos reflect the UV light of even their own brand bulbs and takes efficence down to 1/3. Aqua One vivs do destroy the UV a little (always will if you put anything between reptile and UV) but nt a fraction on the Exos. Plus they are far better designed for ventilation.

So take your pick, will you remember the company for what they *did* or for what they are trying to *do* ? :good:

Thanks very much to you all for your replys, I think I will give that one a miss. I thought it was starting to get a bit pricey at £250 and the chap didn't reply when I asked him if he had seen it full of water which you would really want to see before parting with your cash.

I shall certainly bare in mind your review MBOU if I come across Aqua One in future.

Many thanks again

I have an AR620 (first "real" tank) and I'm quite happy with it. I avoided the 620T because the proportions are wrong.. and I now wish I'd bought the AR850 ;)

Have found the standard filter arrangement to be sufficient, but you could convert it to external if you wanted more. Mostly I like the seamless front, it does make viewing the tank nicer.
