I wouldnt buy it - some of the parts are cheap and ineffective compared to others

Tell us a bit about your plans and we can help you choose

i started with one of these and its ok as a starter tank but that all. TBH if its plug and play you cant go wrong with the red sea max series.
they cost more but have proper kit that you wont need to upgrade.

red sea max are really expenisive, im sure the cheapest is over £1000 (for a decent size). tbh im just doing some very early window shopping  , later this year i plan to sell both my freshwater tanks and upgrade to a marine tank. i also like the look of this tank http://www.allpondsolutions.co.uk/aquarium-tanks/marine-sump-aquarium-fish-tanks/acrylic-marine-fish-tank-with-sump-100cm.html

Red Sea Max 130D seems like a excellent beginner tank, but £700 for a 130 litre seems rather overpriced i guess all the extra stuff included and convenience make up for the price.

Take a look at the boyu 550 and the river reefs or even the d & D cube. Have you considered just buying a juwel 180 or the like with t5 lights, add a couple of powerheads and skimmer and bobs your uncle

is it really that simple? :)

ive looked at those other all-in-one systems before but id like something bigger like 180litres+

this looks like a freshwater tank that would make a nice marine tank too http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/aquariums/fluval/fluval-osaka-aquarium-sets/fluval-osaka-155-aquarium-with-overhead-lighting-and-cabinet.html

theres a place online doing them brand new with heater, external filter, lighting ect all for £200, now were talking

I tell ya, if I could get one with a ready made sump, I'd jump at it! That white one looked niceeeee!

It can be that simple, if you dont want a sump.

The Osaka tanks are lovely to look at but the lighting is not great, just one t5 tube, which will severaly limit your corals. If you like the look of the tank you could look for a secondhand one and upgrade the lighting.

Take a look at Harry's journel - he took a juwel 125 and used for marine, I myself use a juwel 400 without a sump, my system is basic, but I do not keep loads of corals, I keep anemones.

the osaka specs say 2 t5 lights, think im gonna get one of those very soon. then sell my 95 litre tropical community tank to fund a skimmer an powerheads.

I love reading books and have a couple of fishy books, the problem with them is with most by the time they are published they are often well out of date and that one is 9 years old. Just use the forums to clarify anything your not sure on ;)
