Hey guys,

The time has come for me to think about replacing my Co2 Atomizer with either an inline diffuser or reactor. Reason being is I am having to soak the Atomizer in bleach every other week so that the Co2 bubbles continue come out fine, otherwise the ceramic gets clogged up and the bubbles size increases, also I don't like the look of equipment in the tank so it will be nice to remove the Atomizer.

Looking around I am leaning towards the Aqua Medic Reactor over the UP inline diffuser because the Aqua Medic Reactor claims to give almost 100% rate of Co2 diffusion where as the UP inline diffuser will send out a mist of Co2 which some will be wasted when it hits the surface.

Has anyone used the Aqua Medic Reactor 1000 and if so can they offer any advice to any pro's/con's it may have.

Any advice would be great :good:

Hi only just seen this post so you may already have made your choice. The AM1000 is a great reactor BUT it does have its downsides, the major one of which is that it seriously reduces flow. If you run it on a dedicated pump or filter then thats not an issue. Also, it can be a tad noisy so needs tweeking as to what you put inside it. TGM use Sera Siporax. I had one and wish I had not sold it !! I currently have an UP inline and to be honest the bubbles could be finer. I am about to set up a ceramic disk which I got off a friend and he says it gives the finest bubbles he has ever seen :)

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, I ended up purchasing the Aqua Medic Reactor 1000 for a decent price and when it arrived it soon became apparent that it will not fit in my cupboard as it is quite bulky. So I have purchased a Up inline difusser and will be fitting it shortly.

At the moment I am using an atommizer and have to clean it in bleach once a month so that the bubbles keep coming out fine, I am a little worried that I will get the same issue with the Up inline which will be more of a pain to keep removing and cleaning.

The Aqua Medic Reactor 1000 is up for sale at the moment but if the inline does not work out I have a spare external filter I could hook the Aqua Medic up to but I would prefer not to have three external filters running on one tank if possible!! lol

Shame man, I have the UP inline diffuser and its awesome.

As soon as I realised the The Aqua Medic Reactor 1000 was to big I ordered an UP inline diffuser, it is at home waiting to be fitted so hopefully it will also be awesome for me.

[Note to self] stop spending money on fish related stuff

I know man crazy ain't it, link to my vid of diffuser going, look closely and you'll see the tiny bubbles that look like a mist.
