Just wondering if you can have too many apple snails. (In my signature is a list of what I have tank/fish wise). Am wondering if the 4 I have is too many. I've heard that there should be 2 gallons of water for each because of the amount of waste they produce. Is this right? If there are too many in my tank, can I put one in each of my betta bowls? What about outside in my goldfish pond?
thanks! :fun:

possibly, they can be in coldwater but at a low temperature they will hibernate
the ideal range is 18 to 28°C (65-82°F). Temperatures below 18°C/65°F should be avoided as the mortality rate quickly increases

just keep in mind that apple snails get huge (they dont call em apple for no reason) pretty quickly...IMO 1 or 2 max in your 10G but you will probably be sick of them down the road (i know i am, lol)

apple snails are messy in my experience and require around 2 gallons per snail.
they are really interesting and very very fast i have one in my tank

iv'e got them in my girlie Betta tank and as long as they can't fit them in their mouths they tend to ignore them. i think they r a really interesting addition to the tank
