hello Guys
I have had my apple snails breed for the first time.

Just wondered how long does it take them to hatch? I am 2 weeks in, and still waiting. I have looked at some websites who seem to have conflicting information.

Is there any signs to watch out for, that they are imminent?

Thanks
Liza

Hiya I have just had my apple snails eggs hatch, new experience for me too but they took around 16 days to hatch, depending on your tanks temps yours may hatch soon or take a while longer my tank is around 26 degrees and has the lights on for about 8 hours. I sprayed the eggs with water too and made sure the lid was tight as if they dry out too much they will not hatch, they generally turn whitish or have greyish patches to them when hatching is imminent, mine are yellow so I could see the yellow babies through the egg shell and around it when they started hatching, the egg cases just look like they are drying up and crumbling with holes when they hatched but they must be kept damp not submerged in order to hatch if that makes sense! the babies are about the size of a matchstick head when first born so rather difficult to see around the tank to begin with but I soon started spotting more and more!

mine are kept with the adults and a few fish so not sure how long they will last, I have read it is more successful to keep them in a breeder net or spare tank but I am scared to touch them as they are so tiny!
