yep, those cuttle fish things you get for birds. They have calcium in the which are good for there shells.

its just to harden the water, you could add calcium or add limstone to the tank or filter.

those feeding blocks also contain calcium as does spinach, feed soft foods like grapes, cucumber, just remember they are mainly vegetarians and always make sure there is some food for them, they will eat catfish pellets, fish flakes, dead fish but its not ideal. di

If you are going to use the cuttle fish; Wilkinsons have them for about 29p normally (they are one of the cheapest places).
