Has anyone ordered snails online from www.applesnailmail.co.uk if so how long did they take to come. Thanks :D

Hi,

I ordered some on friday last week, had an email to say they were dispatched yeaterday afternoon and they should have arrived today but they didn't. I have no idea what royal mail are playing at as i sent some plants last tuesday to lady tanksalot and she hasn't received them yet so no doubt she will get an envelope of green mush sometime soon. . I really hope the snails will be ok, they have a heat pack but i don't know how long they stay warm for. I ordered the ruby and zebra nerites which were quite expensive fingers crossed they will be here first thing tomorrow.

Hi,

The snails still haven't arrived so i hope they will all be ok when they get here. Has anyone else ordered form snailshop in the past? Not only have i wasted 2 days sat at home waiting for them when i could be xmas shopping, with the cold weather i wonder if the heat pack will be enough.

Still waiting for my snails to arrive havnt even had an email from them yet. Hope they arrive soon as they have taken my money for them :/

Mine still not here yet either, the most annoying thing is i went to transcontinental goldfish in Huddersfield yesterday and they had the snails i want for £1.99. I paid £2.99 from snailshop. I didn't buy any as i live in hope that they will turn up alive and well. I am off out again today as i doubt they will come. My boyfriend works from home and will phone me as soon as they arrive (if they arrive).

emma12321 - any luck on the snails arriving? I'm curious as I have been thinking about getting a couple of apple snails from that site to go in my tank. I hope they arrive soon... it's annoying that the website doesn't have any way of contacting them! The 'contact form' doesn't seem to work.
Perhaps it's taking so long because they have decided to wait until the weather is less harsh to actually post the snails out. If that's the case then they should really be letting people know by email!
Good luck with the snails... I hope they are healthy if/when they arrive!

I just looked back on the site and the email form is working now and the direct email address also shows up... sorry, that must've just been a freak occurrence! Have you been emailing at all to find out what's going on?

Hi,

The snails arrived at half 11 on friday, before i went out. It was a bit like opening a takeaway, they were wrapped in cotton wool stuff and inside the polystrene containers you would get peas in at the fish and chip shop. They were sent signed for delivery by royal mail at a cost of £1.87 (which is annoying when you pay £4.50 post and packing). There was no heat pack in with them and the bit of water under the cotton wool was ice cold. They were packed in 2 containers and the food and calcium was in the same package.

I put them in a tupperware tub with water from the fish tank and a couple of them started moving around straight away. I had arranged to go out with my sister so after about half an hour in the tub i put them in the tank. They had all moved exept a tiger nerite when i got home. I left it in the tank overnight but it was still in the same spot this morning it is definately dead  i sniffed it to check.

My boyfriend ordered them so he is going to ask for a refund. I have saved it in a plastic cup in case they want it sending back. I told him i didn't want a replacement as there is no guarantee it will be ok and we would probably be charged postage again so it looks like a trip to transcontinental goldfish to get another.

If i order from them again i will wait until the weather is a lot warmer.

Emma :(

What a pain :/. You should definately contact them though as they say they have a live arrival guarantee. I think that waiting for the warmer weather is a good idea... I'm suprised they didn't send them with a heat pack!

My snails still havnt arrived havnt even had an email yet i will give them another week before i contact them again :grr:

Snails arrive this morning at 10:00am good job i was in as they didnt send me an email to say they had posted them. I put them into a container of tank water thought they were dead at first as they were so far into their shells. Left them a while, half an hour later the purple one began to come out of its shell it is now moving about. Pink one started to come out at 11am so hopefully it will be ok.
