Apple Snails And Sand...

I'm thinking of using sand as a ground for my Betta tank (5 or so Gallons) but am not sure if sand will mess up the snail any. I know nothing about snails, to be honest, besides they're agitating in my 10 gal.

I just want to make SURE before I do anything wrong. >.<

Snails will be fine with a majority of substrates. Some snails even burrow into the gravel. Mostly your snails will just want to graze on your tankwalls and decor. I have had some bettas that eat snails though....

All my apple snails and nerites and MTS are on sand without problems, the spixi's bury themselves in it through the day.
