Hi All,

Really didn't know whether to class this as an emergency or not, apologies if not.

My apple snail got part of its body stuck inside the filter intake - I had to take it apart to free it.

Since then, one part of its body seems 'dead' but it does keep attempting to move and is clearly alive.

Attached, is a picture of this 'dead' part i.e. the bit to the front of the picture.

Since writing this, the snail attempts to lift itself up and it 'feeling around' but seems to be unable to move.

Appreciate any help,

Sam

The snail has withdrawn itself and is still holding onto its protective 'door', however I suspect it may be injured. Can't find anything on google etc with the same problem. I imagine its quite rare for snails to get part stuck in objects.

I really hope your snail gets better. Sorry i can't suggest anything but i am new to fish keeping and still learning myself.

If you snail is not able to move itself it may be prudent to move it around yourself so that it can feed. Snails are normally quite resilient so hopefully it can recover. Good luck!
