Apple Snail Eggs

one of me apple snail is crawling on another apple snail(shell)I guess their mating

not necesarily. They crawl an anything and anybody they happen to find in their path. Then again, of course it's possible.

I can tell you alittle about my snail egg experiences. i bought 1 golden apple snail, and several months later I found a clutch of eggs on the lid. I only knew where they came from because I was pretty sure the goldfish didn't do it. I didn't know any aquatic snails wanted their eggs out of the water, and I didn't know any gastropods were not hermaphodites, so I got to do some research. That one snail, wh was eventually named "mamma snelly" produced alot of eggs and a lot of kids. She's gone now, but I still have about a dozen of her kids, which mostly look a lot like her , but ssome are more ivory. One of them laid eggs a few months ago and those are very pretty little things, ranging from bright orangey gold to almost clear pearly white. I also bought a couple of black ones, to see if I get interesting breeding results. Then just a couple of days ago I found another nice little pancreas shaped egg cluster on the lid, almost exactly where the last one was. So far her kids are not near as prolific as Momma snelly was, but I never sold any of her kids and I am starting to sell my current generation. I counted 257 hatchlings from the second clutch, but haven't counted others as carefully. They didn't all live to maturity of course, but the only ones that never hatched at all were the ones that were on the side of the wall and fell in, and then I took them out because they were getting slightly fuzzy resting on my floating breeding box. I think it took around 3 weeks for each egg cluster to hatch. I had to catch them in a breeding box when the were in the goldfish tank, but I haven't been as careful in the tropical comunity, and they're OK so far. I might try to catch the next brood, especially if I get snail eaters to control my less desirable snails. warmer temps seem to speed everything quite a bit for these guys, but other than that they seem to thrive if you just take care of whatever fish they live with and let the snails live on leftovers, and don't touch the eggs if you can avoid it.
As for how to tell if they're fertilised, I just wait and see if they hatch. :)
