I recently got 3 apple snails from my brother. They are about 2 inches long.
I wish to breed them, so I put them in a 30 gallon polypterus growout tank with the one polypterus and 3 raphael cats. They do no harm to each other. However, I have a few questions;
1) How much laying space should I give them? Is 2 inches too short? Should I lengthen it?
2) I am pretty sure I have 1 m 2 f. But the male(The smaller one) is driving the females nuts about breeding! He keeps on trying to mate with them. Should I remove him?
3) The 2 "females" keep on climbing out of the water, perhaps trying to find a place to lay? Again, the first question.
Other than that, the live okay. The eat like pigs(Even the high-protien poop of the polypterus! ) and are very active. Kinda makes my want to start an apple tank .
Any output will be appreciated
