hi all have:nt been on for a while i was wondering if anyone out there keeps apollo sharks & if they know anything about them i have 1 keep half of the tank clear for him cos i know they need space,my shark has got a great character & he eats anything. In summer any insects in the house go in the tank moths, flys,he goes absolutely bonkers for them probably cos he;s a insect eater in the wild.U dont c many apollo sharks in lfs why is this are they pretty rare or something, anyway i think there great fish. thanks nig.

35 gallon tank
1 apollo shark
3 3 spot gouramis
3 platys
1 buenes airies tetra
1 red tailed black shark

I just added one of these guys a couple days ago, lfs had a nine incher I couldn't pass up. Just cruises around, sometimes gives the congos a little harmless chase. Pretty cool fish so far.

35 gallons is not suitable for a 10 inch shoaling fish... and yes they are peaceful shoaling fish somewhat like bala sharks in character just not quite as active and slightly more aggressive.
freddyk you may want to get yours some friends?
nigel you may want to give your tetra a shoal too.

These guys are actually very aggressive toward each other. to keep more then one you need a decent sized schoal - sort of like tiger barbs. They're as rare here as where nigel lives, so that's not an option. As long as they're king of the tank they do quite well alone.

I also don't think it's an appropriate fish for the 35.

thanks all very helpful i will get some more tetras sylvia thanks again
