Hi all,
I am really lost with these fish species and I would appreciate some help with compatibility.

My partner has been begging me for a while now to get a "cockatoo" and an angel fish. From what I have reasearched the scientific name for the cockatoo(dwarf cichilid) is Apistogramma Cacatuoides.

My guestion is, can any of these be kept at all with guppies, platies, albino corydoras and common pleco?

What type of conditions do they like as in Ph, temp, water type, tank type, etc..?
Do they need friends from their own species to be happy?

It's a 90 gallon, but I haven't bought the fish yet so open to suggestions.

Oh alright what will the dimensions be?

Oh, sorry. I should have included this in the initial post. Here you go:

Cm: L120 cm, W47.7 cm, H74.5
Inches: L47.2 inch, W18.8 inch, H29.3 inch

Edit: It might as well be a bit more than 90G as dimensions, but I think the water itself without the gravel and other decoration is about 90G

angelfish and cockatoo apistos are compatible

perhaps a stocking of:
4 angelfish
3 cockatoo apisto (1m/2f)
15 black neon tetras
8 bronze corydoras
1 bristlenose

pretty basic stocking but it works. would also have to consider removing 2 angelfish if a pair forms, depends how the tank is scaped and how aggressive the angelfish pair is

edit:

angelfish and apistos can be kept with guppies, platies, albino corydoras (usually these are the same as bronze corydoras) and common pleco. one point to make though is that common plecos grow quite large and i personally wouldnt recommend one for a 4ft/90g tank.

as for water conditions. something close to ph7, 25C and medium hardness would be fine for all those species youve mentioned.

Thanks. I wish I could get more species, but I was wondering if 1 angle fish and 1 cockatoo for example can live with the guppies, platies, corydoras and a pleco?

Angel fish are social and needs to be in groups, im not sure but I think apistos need to be aswell.
The common pleco is not suitable for your tank though Im afraid, I'd say 5ft minimum.

I wouldn't want anything to become aggressive, so can just males of these species be kept and what is the minimum number?

Edit: The pleco is still fairly small but I'll rehome him eventually.

the fish would demonstrate more natural and interesting behaviour if kept in groups

edit: cockatoo apistos are quite peaceful and i really doubt u would observe any trouble from a 1m2f trio in such a large tank (large in comparison to the size of these fish anyway)

Great.
Do the cockatoos become aggressive if they pair up?
Sorry to ask again, but can I get just a couple of males for example?

I think they like it to be one male and a whole bunch of females, not to sure though, I would of though males would fight but since you got such a large tank I would've thought it would be alright.
Apistos have never really been my thing, so not entirely sure on this one.

I was thinking, the Ph on my tanks is 7.6. Isn't that a bit high for a apistogramma cacatuoides?
