I am currently using test strips to conduct my water tests and even though they showed good paramters one of my fish died yesterday and it has been suggested that it was because of bad water quality.
What is so much better about the liquid test kits instead of the test strips, what makes one more accurate than the other?
The liquid tests test for one thing at a time using a fresh sample and liquid reagents for each test whereas the strips test for everything from one sample using dried markers. Without going into chemist mode the simplest terms are 'the law of averages'.....
Strips require a small droplet of water
Liquids require a test tube full
In other words the liquid tests are like doing multiple strip tests and taking the average result
