Hi Guys,
I'm trying to save for a new DSLR camera which I hope to buy in the next month or so. I've done a lot of research and I have one in mind plus the lens, expensive or what! but it's a really interesting subject.
Anyway I'll just have to keep plodding along with my trusty old Brownie for at least another couple of months yet
It's served me well in the past but it's not a real boys toy.
Here's some Killifish pics from this evening.

Whilst the shots aren't all that bad, I really need that new camera. The fish were performing beautifully this evening and I can only think what a missed opportunity to get in really close.

Great pictures! That quality I would already be more than happy with... I used to have in the non-digital age a Canon with several lenses, but I noticed that I was reluctant to take them into the field with me (for work) since it was so heavy... So I am now more than happy with my 'hybrid', a Sony which is between a full-fledged lense camera and a 'easy-picture-taking' one.

Which brand are you thinking about and how many megapixels? I have noticed that the manufacturers seem to back away a bit from upping the resolution. Canon just brought a hybrid in a series which have been going up in terms of megapixels (last model was 14), and now have gone back to 10...

Hi Biulu.
The Camera I've got in mind is a Canon EOS 1000D 10MP (although an older 300-400 series 8MP would suffice)
complimented with a EF50 Macro lens (would like a 100mm but funds wont stretch LOL)

Sounds good Colin :good: ! For some reason I have always kept a special place in my heart for Nikon. It was my first 'full-fledged' camera with 2 lenses and I loved it. I am though no longer up-to-date with this equipment so have no clue whether they still make good digital cameras.
