Where are you?

the isle of skye in the scottish highlands

Lol, was going to say if you can get to Cornwall there is tonnes of it (literally) on the Camel Trail.

I could post some for you but it'll be expensive. What size tank is it for and how much do you need?

its for a 50x18x26 so its a good size lol. i would need around 30kg i think? i have used parcel force to collect parcels that weighted that before for about £30 quid i think. could i get your post code so i can get a quote? i would also give you something to cover your time, or i can give you my postcode and you can give me a total price for it delivered?

Guessing inches not cm...?

I'll see how much of it I have lying around. If you can have it collected from PL26 8RT and cover the cost of packing materials you can have it.

yeh inches. just checked and they want £40 for 30kg and £50 for 40kg.....ouch. see how much yyou have lying around mate and ill get some more quotes

Since your travelling soon try and get to a B&Q or Homebase, they sell green and plum slate for £5 or £6 per bag. Not sure of the actual weight of it though.

By the way, the isle of skye looks like an amazing place. Its definitely on the places I want to go to list. :good:

hi mate, they have a b&q and homebase in inverness, i take it they are both suitable for aquarium use? yes skye is beautiful, its nice and sunny today with very little cloud, all you can see from my house is the mountains and the sea :)

They state they're both "fish safe" although I'm assuming they suggest for ponds. A few of my friends have used it for their tanks though with no problems. Just wash it well. I'd suggest pouring a kettle of boiling water over the slate once its cleaned.
