10k 250w venture MH bulbs....
just wanted to know if anyone has or knows anyone that uses these bulbs
i have been told it is rely close to the Phoenix 14k. i have one and it is really blue and was just interested to see how many more people use or have them
and what they think of them as far as growth and all around light output..

and is this a good place to get it or could i get it cheaper somewhere else
here is a link to the venture

I'm still new to this whole MH thing so I'm not really sure what to get. i think the bulbs that i have are quite old and i need to replace them.
but i dont want to spend an arm and leg for them just a leg if you all know what i mean. rite now i have a 250w XM 10k that is quite yellow looking on one end and I'm getting a green fuzz kind of stuff growing on that end and a 250w venture 10k on the other end and it is blue looking with no green fuzzy stuff growing . what would make that happen? just the age of the bulb or is the 250w XM 10k just not a good bulb to have on a tank?

It was once used lots in the marine world a few years back but they found it Yellowy.

Never heard of or used Venture bulbs. The algae thing could be attributed to the XM's phosphors wearing down over time and emitting different spectra that promotes algae

Edit: and that link doesnt work btw

If you want a bluer bulb, I'd suggest a Hamilton 14K. Great quality bulbs, nice blue tint, and much cheaper
