Anyone Knows Guinea Fowls?

Hello mates!!
You see, I have a pair of guinea fowls that wonders here and there around the home.... But the male had been acting strange for a while, every time the female walks, stands or feeds, the male come and nip her toes so strongly that she bleeds heavily, the male is been acting in this way for couple of months now. Is this a normal behavior or is there something wrong?
