at first glance, it looks like a dull black neon tetra.

but look closer and it seems like a female gold tetra

Gold Tetra, I think, or it could be an odd ball. But my best guess is a Gold. Get it some mates if you can or return it, they like company.

It’s because it’s a young fish ,they don’t get this colour until they are adults.When you buy them in the shop they have no colour.

Gold tetra it is. Thats the very man (or lady). Thank you. I think I'll scoop him up and return him as I don't intend on getting a community of them. Besides they shorted me an Odessa barb for it. They also dumped another long plecco looking thing in there and I forgot to get a picture so I'll have to wait until he shows himself.
