Been drooling over the Wholesale Tropicals stocklist (I did SO want to o to London this weekend) and these three caught my attention.

suppose I probably would find it a bit of a nuisance to keep the sawbwa in live food

the urophtalmoides someone said it's so timid you hardly ever see it- is that true?

the danio nigrofasciatus I like the look of, and I think I would be able to keep them comfortably. Anyone got any info?

another thought (not for the same tank, but with reshuffle) was ember tetras. Anyone got a take on these? Tropicalfishfinder say they are adaptable as to hardness/alkalinity- would you say that is so?

checkout my website for info on dwarf danios :good:

Sorry, should have mentioned that that was my first port of call :D Just wondering if you had any more personal comments to add. Actually, it's the nitrates bit that might put a stopper on this idea. I trust my maintenance routine, but I don't trust Southern Water much.

Plenty of RO sources around, that should do you.

Meh, why did you make me look!!! That is so not fair.... Meh, I'd go to London but I'm not sure Dad would be up for a couple of hours driving just to go to a fish shop -_-

I've kept dwarf danios in a tank that had continual 60ppm NO3 for ages
with no ill effects on the fish.
I'd put them somewhere inbetween ZD's and neons in the sense of hardyness.

I found that being such a small fish you get a better social interaction and colouration having them in a larger school. my school was 14 strong and they were superb. as with all danios the min i'd recomend is a group of 5.

Ooh, now you are tempting me. It's particularly opportune as my daughter has just fallen in love with the ordinary zebra danios, and I would rather keep something new. Maybe I could get her to accept the dwarfs... I really like the look of them, and it's a long time since I kept danios. Wonder how much they charge at Wholesale tropicals...

Heh, better make sure you have oodles of cash spare... I've already 'planned' a route from here, to Wholesale Trops, to Wildwoods and back home... 2h journey each way anyone :S
