anyone know if Hovex, Ammonia Cleaner is any good?

it says on the front of the bottle

Hovex Ammonia Clearner

Clear*Non - streaking*

for glass and shiny surfaces.


it doesnt have any ingrienents on it,

so does anyone know about this one?

and is it safe to use?

I really don't know. They say the way to test it, is to shake the bottle and see if the liquid foams. In essence even pure ammonia will foam a bit but the bubbles will settle in a few seconds. Whereas if it contains anythings else, the bubbles take ages to go down.

If you are in the UK, I know for a fact that Jeyes “Kleen-Off” is fine.

You just want a bottle of plain, pure ammonia, if you can find it. I wouldn't put window cleaner in my tank, personally.

Never heard of this one, but would agree with cation; the fact that it is called 'cleaner' rather than pure ammonia suggests that it may contain other ingredients. The foam test only works on surfactants, but other ingredients such as perfumes may be equally poisonous.
