Anyone here own a Boyu tank?

I've been looking at a small tank and these seem quite good, never heard of the manufacturer though.

Does anyone here have one?

One of my lfs has 2 set up, they do look very good quality compared to similar priced smaller tanks. I've just never heard of them before. I was going out later today to buy a small tank so I might have one later.

I bought 1, £80 for a 40 litre. Got it set up and there doesn't seem to be any problems so far.

Only complaint I have is with the filter. It's really large, makes the one that came with my jewel rio 180 look pathetic, which is good. The trouble is with what was in it. There are 3 big compartments, first one has 2 large sponges in, second has a large carbon bag with a few bio-balls, last has 2 huge carbon sponges.

Slightly overdone the carbon there I think. I've ripped all the carbon out as I've put plants in the tank, which means I'll have to make a trip back to the lfs to buy some new stuff to replace it.

Why have you removed the Carbon with plants in the tank? looks like a nice little tank though did it come with the heater and lighting? Did you get a stand aswell?

Why have you removed the Carbon with plants in the tank

I've heard from a few people that carbon removes substances that plants need to flourish, but I've heard conflicting advice about that. The main reason is because I'm moving some injured fish across, 1 dwarf neon gourami with a side wound and a few guppies with tail nips, and I'll be treating them, so have removed the carbon.

did it come with the heater and lighting

There are lights in the hood which are adequate for the size of the tank, and what looks like a fairly good quality heater too. Seems a fairly tight squeeze getting the filter pump and heater in the same compartment though.

Did you get a stand aswell

I didn't get the stand, although there were 2 types at my lfs. 1 was quite normal with 2 decorative metal bars, the other looks like a twisted rectangle. Both looked quite good, but I didn't have room unfortunately. Cost about an extra £35-40.
