My Cookie is 15 years old now. I've had him from a pup. He's totally blind and bashes his little head on eveything as he's trying to find his way around but he's still going. I love him sooooooo much.
Kona, my american eskimo, is also 15 and although she doesn't bump into anythng, she's almost deaf and has a hard time hearing us when we talk to her. she still thinks she's a puppy, and will run around like a crazy thing, only to be all stiff and sore later!
Leah is over 14 yrs now and having trouble with her back legs/ hips. Every so often she thinks she's still a pup and trys to play with Thor only to end up trying to move to quickly and fall on her backside. She is also going sort of senile as often when you call her she gets a wierd dazed experession in her eyes. I keep expecting her to die soon, as she has always had a heart murmer but apart from her little issues she is still going strong and loves her walks and going places in the car, and eating. I am not sure who will miss her more my husband (who is Leah's owner by defualt- really long story but enough to say Leah ADORES my husband) or Thor who we got as a companion dog for Leah after my beautiful dog Sam died of cancer. Leah had only ever known Sam since she was a few months old and was going down hill fast until we got Thor. Thor might have been 6yrs old when we got him, but he sure brightened up mine and Leahs lives. I will always miss Sam but Thor has made his own home in my heart as well.
