Is his shell cracked?..No clue what a humbug mint is, lol. But here’s mine that I’ve had for around 4 years now:

some nerites change shell pattern in different habitatsIs his shell cracked?..
I used to have a bunch, kept algae under control nicely, seemed to like to hang with same!
No, that naturally occurs with age.Is his shell cracked?..

It’s technically “calcium deprivation”, but I don’t see how that’s possible, because my pH is pretty much perfect.Wow... It looks like a large crack. What is it actually though?
Ah ok! So kinda like wear and tear reallyIt’s technically “calcium deprivation”, but I don’t see how that’s possible, because my pH is pretty much perfect.
I personally think that over time, when the snail gets older, it’s shell needs to grow. Sometimes it takes a while to cover up the new “growth crack”, and that’s why you see that lighter colored stuff in the crack. That’s the substance right below the actual shell.
Ohhhhhhh ok I see it now. It looked like it was mirrored, but the things around it didn’t. I was SO confusedIt’s technically “calcium deprivation”, but I don’t see how that’s possible, because my pH is pretty much perfect.

Yes, my grear Admiral Nerite seems like his shell is split in half. But it's two layers that you can see and he's the oldest nerite in my tank. No, that naturally occurs with age.
It's not because how would that be possible? My oldest nerite has a large "crack" and I have the top 5 hardest water in the UK (I won't tell you which number). It’s technically “calcium deprivation”, but I don’t see how that’s possible, because my pH is pretty much perfect.

Someone did an experiment on YouTube comparing apple/Mystery and nerite snails for algae control and nerites won!I used to have a bunch, kept algae under control nicely, seemed to like to hang with same!
