I've tried EVERYTHING else.......now I'm thinking of chemicals......... :X

Has anybody ever used any......do you have the brand handy....DID IT WORK  ???

anybody.............anybody...................

I hate the idea of using chemicals on my tanks. You chould look into things that eat snail. Jack Dempsey do, they're quite pretty. I think all of the loaches do.

I just thought of something that kills snail. Sail. They're little more then slugs in shells. I thinks salt kill all but a few snails. But we carefull not to add salt with tetras and scaless fishes.

Silver you're such a loach fan just get yourself some loachy's Doesn't have to be clown loaches. Yo-Yo's and some others will eat snails. My Yo-Yo's are TONs of fun they are very active and can slurp a snail right out of its shell. Slightly larger would be the Angelicus Botia (B. Angelicus/B. Kubotai) but they don't get to be the size of a clown loach so you don't have to worry about space as much. I'd use them before I'd use chemicals.

Hmmmmmmm.......loaches really eat snails?????

:shifty:

DEFINITLEY going to think about that one :hey:

I guess you're right about the chemicals. My 55 inhabitants are just now getting back to being really healthy.......

Great advice....I would never recommend using chemicals for a tank unless it was absolutely necessary...

Now...my dilemma....my 30gall is pretty much well to over stocked....yet I have snails. I obviously cannot get more fish which I would need to eat the snails I have (quitet a lot of small nuisance snails)....

Any suggestions there?

The only thing I think you can do is get another tank and make some room, or make some fishies "dissappear". :byebye:

I forgot about taking a piece of lettuce and using it for bait.

i've had this probelm before, and it sucks! tried chemicals, didnt work... you can try lettuce, but they'll always be more eggs waiting to hatch. i'd say best bet, get a snail eating fish, like already suggested! good luck!

i use dwaf puffers. they make quik work of most pond snails. and i move them from tank to tank

Don't you have room for a couple of small loaches in your 75 gal. Just put them in your 30gal temporarilay, it will only take a couple of days.
