Anyone Ever Kept A Chinchilla?

I'm getting a Chinchilla soon and I'm just wondering if anyone on here has ever owned one?
I'm gonna try and build my own cage as i want it to be big.

Hey!... Someone please help Tony here.... I think Spishkey had some experience (no longer active) and Degon, I recall was another.... I kept Chinchillas in the early 1970's, and lost both of 'em in 1 night when they decided to chew through some electrical wiring in my garage... They are beautiful and (as I recall) not difficult to breed... My Chinchilla designed cage had a partition that was blocked off for introducing the pair, and then removed when she was on heat.... After the babies were born... I (recall) I was instructed to remove the male... All vague memories, but someone with recent experience... Let's get Tony set up....

Thanks, Decided I'm just gonna go and buy a big cage as I'm not to good with building stuff
Anyway yes, I'm gonna try and get a new camera for my birthday (13 April) then ill update any progress ...Hopefully get a Chinchilla in a few weeks .
