Anyone Else Having Trouble With Steam?

It keeps saying I am not connected to steam and that it can't make a connection... any ideas? I obviously have connection because I am on the net...

I installed Half Life 2 and get that Steam message every time I boot my computer. I will uninstall the lot when I finish the game.

You have, I take it, created a steam account??? Username, password etc etc.

You purchase games 'on-line' and this then activates your on-line play....

Yeah I have an account and have played for a few months now. I bought css on steam and cs1.6 at the store. I have no idea what the problem could be.

So you start up Steam... and it trys to connect and can't OR it trys to log you in with your username etc, and then kicks you out?

BTW, have you tried emailing them, you have PAID for this!!!!!!

I play Halflife all the time (last 5 years or so)

I don't have any problems but my router disconnects now and then and that's the only time i get an error like that.

Yeah I just emailed them. I am going to try unplugging my modem and plugging it back it to restart the system.

All it says is that steam cannot make a connection and keeps me in offline mode.

It's time to do the 'point-out-the-obvious' dance....

No firewall issues?
Nothing like peerguardian installed?
Try something like NetLimiter Pro & sniff those ports!
Tried a virus & SpyBot scan (i.e. port hogging by KeyLogging Malware & the such like)?

That reminded Me that I have Steam on this PC.

Reloaded it and downloaded CS CS Source, TFC, Hlife.

I'm GillPard and mainly play Classic Dustbowl.

I think it has something to do with this idiotic game my parents put on the computer... I think it messed with some of the same files, I am going to un-instal and re try.
