are these chinese algae eaters or siamese?
 
yup they are definatly Gyrinocheilus aymonieri
and they shouldn't be kept in groups as they are extreamly territorial.
 
Yeah i also agree they CAE's(chinese algae eaters), they will kill each other if you put them together given a little time, you could keep one but they have been known to also get violent on other completely non related species of fish as they mature.
 
When there young there are sort of peaceful, but when they mature they become really agressive. When I first bought them i was told there were community but not long there were killing my fish in my community tank. I had to move them to my old 55 gallon african cichlid tank and and it was constently fighting with my cichlids. You should definately return some of them, but if you plan on keeping one, what type of tank do you plan on keeping it in?
