Anybody Else Own An Ocean Aquarium

Jus wondering if anyone else has had problems with theirs as my second unit has now gone on the blink ?. My first one, the ballast burnt out but not before leaving the room full of noxious gas !!!. Surprisingly, the fish survived. My lfs replaced it no problem. Now on doing my water change before, upon lifting the light unit off the tank all water poured out from inside the unit. On checking the tubes I also noticed that one has all burn marks inside it and also the plastic casing to the unit was all mottled and scorched, and that is on the outside !!!. I have also noticed a slight smell like the smell of the first unit but not very strong yet. I have cleaned it up a bit and let it cool down but I have just tried it and one of the tubes wont come on.

Any comments on similar problems would be much appreciated.

I don't own an Ocean Aquarium but I have never had problems like that. Infact, my real old 30 gallon light assy which fainlly gave out, has been dropped in the water over 20 times. Sometimes it was left in there for minutes while its on and continued to work even after pulling it out

Maybe get a different light assy?

I tried to get a different one out of them yesterday at the lfs I bought it from but they were having none of it. They have given me a new ocean one so I'm now on my 3rd light unit in 5 months lol
