well today i bought a new ram from the time i put him/her in the tank my old one chases it around i cant tell really if one os a male or female - the first one i got about a week is much more colorful thewn the new one also when the new one comes close the other will "flex" his fins and they all stand out make it look like WATCH WHERE YA GOIN!

Hi there, first pic is a female. But the second? I work in the lfs and i havent seen one that dull, the male is just not as colourful as the females. When you took the pic was the fish stressed? because most fish go dull if they are stressed.

yeah i just got it and its still a bit stressed since the female which i thought was a male keeps chasoing it - the one in the second pic just stays to itself

Gow big is the tank? Do they have enough room to have territory. You could maybe try rearranguing the tank, that often works with cichlids.

its a 29g

i will have a 75g shortly and want to dedicate this tank to rams and cory's (2-3)


but after mnitoring today since we know the fresh prince is a princess now she chases everything including the bala shark i have which is double her size

As cheese said i would re-organize the tank...first thing i do is catch them and bag them (floating in tank) then move all the caves/decorations in the tank . Then i release them again...this forces them to reestablish territory. Hope everything works out.

I hope your bala/s is/are going into the new tank too.

I think the tank is probably big enough (depending on what other fish you have) for the rams if you move stuff around.

yes the only thing will stay in this tank is rams and corys - im getting a new tank and placing the bala and pleco in due to i know how big they can get, i was going to make it a kribs tank but im really enjoying my rams
