It is indeed a type of moss hair algae, it grows in clumps, usually a lot nearer the surface of the water when there is not much movement.

Do you have plenty of current circulation in your tank? Its very easy stuff to remove, and you should as it will end up taking over your tank if you leave it.

I've got 2 filters running, one for a 20 and one for a 55 and 2 bubblers, so there is a current.
I'm going to remove it as soon as I get there, thanx for the info, I didn't want to remove it until I knew it was something I didn't want.
