Yes i have the 150, great heater, after breaking multiple glass heaters, i decided to buy one. very consistent, and keeps water temp very stable.

4.5/5 stars :good:

Two, 300W versions, cost ~£22 each on Ebay...

Do it, no regrets at all, can even become a replacement extrernal filter "in pipe" with a connector kit (which then spreads the heated water out nicely through the "out pipe")!

Got 2 of them in my 360L tank and they`re brill :D

After having used the Visitherm and Fluval heaters (which cracked and broke in the water) over the last couple of years I went with the Rena smartheater off the recommendations on this forum :good: :good:
Got mine from the same Seller as Goat ;)

Goat, I didn`t know about a connector kit, any links to what would be needed to do what you describe above?

Where I got mine from, planning to attach to the 2078, which will be coming back inside when I decide my "fish juggle strategy" ...

(Might be available cheaper elsewhere, think someone said ~£5 is possible)

I basically agree with elisew, my Fluval M150 cracked in my tank but my Rena Smart is much better, very reliable

Odd mine last about a year before a problem. Rena replaced the first one under warrenty, but it did the same thing after about 8 months. Blinky, blinky and no heat. Bought a new heater with a guard and a 5 year warranty for less then the rena. The smart heater then spent a few weeks on my floor after which it seemed to come back to life. I then decided to leave it in a bag of rice for a month to completely dry it out. As far as I am aware it is working, but I haven't put it back into service yet. Its somewhere on my floor I think, I'm really not sure .

I have had two and both have broken, been rather disappointed so far after reading all the great reviews about them apart from there dodgy lights which are known for the blinking problem.

One started to cook my tank trying to heat it to over 30 degree even set at 22 the other just stopped working. Both went within 1 week of each other just outside of the warrenty period which was annoying. Might try an external instead.

Just my experiance and seems rare so may still be worth a shout.

Kind Regards,

Adam

P.S both where the 300watt models.
