Any Ideas?

Hi folks
A platy of mine has been looking a bit off colour for a day or so, and ive now just noticed a white growth on its back. Like a loose flap of skin or an extra fin kinda.... anybody any ideas on what it could be? I want to have an idea what i need to treat for before jumping in uninformed

Ok so seems everybody was as confused as me. Well im even more at a loss this evening as ive returned from work and whatever is was has gone?! Fish seems ok and no trace of any ailment ....

Alls well that ends well i suppose D
