What with my Clown loaches suddening enjoying eating every real plant I put in the tank (including java fern) and my recent algae bloom

I'm looking into getting some nice false plants (material variety rather than plastic if poss)

i get mine from craft sores and florests... just make sure theres no glue on them.. mine have been in the tank since monday and iv seen no ill effects...

All thow its nowere near to you witney pet centre near oxford do an amazing range of fake plants. They have a whole wall devoted to them and i've never seen anything like that before. Try your LFS

Hi Alien_spawn :)

I would make every effort to find artificial plants made specifically for use in an aquarium before I used ones from another source. While some may be fine, my concern is that some might be made with cheap dyes that could leach into the water and poison the fish.

Cheers everyone for the info, thats what my main concern was inchworm with florist fake plants!!

i agree with that also, thats why most ppl do a test on them

i had some fake moss that i wanted to attach to some parts of my bogwood... i didnt know if it leached color or not so i put some in a dish and filled it with water (same temp as tank) and left it for 24hrs, when i came to look at it i couldnt see the fake moss for green water :( needless to say it wasnt used and was binned.

all the other things u see in my tanks had the same tests done... a few of them were left for 48 hrs prior to goin in.
