Hi
Just wonderd if any one who keeps silver doller has any pictures of there tank I am wondering about what they like to hide behind and things

cheers

I think a few plants would be good - and plenty of swimming space. Keep in mind that they need a rather large tank - they grow to 8 inches (20 cm) and does so relatively quickly so you need at least a 55 gallon for a small shoal of 4-5 (they need to be kept in groups).

cheers mate your tank looks great
i see you have sand i have sand to but was told to turn the sand every time i do a water change so every 2 weeks i "hoover" and turn over a section of the tank but then its cloudy water for a weeek
how do you manage your sand to keep your water so clear

You don't need to turn the sand over... just the occasional stirr or something that'll disturb the sand is enough to keep deadly pockets of toxic substances from forming.

The water is kept clear by a combination of a Eheim canister filter (classic 2213) and a powerhead fitted with a water polishing sleeve.
I dont have to worry about anerobic patches forming in the sand as it is only 1/2" deep and i have catfish in the tank which turn it over when searching for food. Unless you have live plants (which i asume you dont with SD's) then you dont need a deep substrate and just enough to cover the bottom of the tank is pleanty.
