I bought a frag of Anthelia a week ago and it was doing great until yesterday. I noticed something wasn't right in the morning, the color seemed to be off and when i got home later it had only gotton worse. Its a purple color rather than its usual pink color, and most of it has closed up and has been continuously shrinking. It was looking the greatest i'd ever seen it thursday, and then friday it looked dead.

I was due for a water change, so i did that, i'll test my water in a bit, PH is at 8.3
I read that when the ph goes down at night, Anthelia can be badly affected, so i will also test that tonight to see how much it drops.
All the fish and inverts are normal, and my GSP has never looked better.
My current lighting is a PC 2x20, which i know isn't the best, but a good friend of mine who has kept saltwater for years, said it would be fine.

Any ideas? -_- It was so pretty just a few days ago.

EDIT:
Tested water.
Ammonia, Nitrates, and nitrites are all at 0.

Well, Xenia will close at night, but it should open back up in the morning within an hour after lights-on.

If it remains closed/shriveled, something's not right with your water. With a pH of 8.3, I'd imagine either you're in an imbalanced calc/alk situation (where alk is say 12dKH and calc is <300ppm), or more likely your hydrometer is malfunctioning and your sg has crept up in the 1.028 or higher range. My Xenia closed up when my sg was up to 1.029 even though my hydrometer was telling me 1.025. Brought a sample into the LFS, and using their refractometer they told me my water was 1.029 . Learned the hard way about the inaccuracies of hydrometers. Luckily I didnt kill anything :)

Well i checked the PH last night, it didn't change at all.

It was much better colored today, back to its pink color, but it still hasn't fully come back to life yet. I'll see about tomorrow, maybe all it needed was a water change... Still a little worried about it though.
My hydrometer should be fine Ski, as i think i've only used this one 2 or 3 times, but i'll look into it anyways.
