I have a 20 gallon long (30" long) that is fairly well planted with some driftwood and rock, and seems to have enough space for more than one territory for bottom dwellers. Could i safely add 2 pairs of rams (i've only seen blues locally but if i ran into bolivians i'd get those instead) to this setup (after the cycle completes and i confirm appropriate water parameters of course)? Is it one of those maybe, maybe not situations? Or absolutely out of the question?

Well I would say maybe, maybe not. They are very territorial. Before I had two pairs in a planted 20 (not long) and one pair was always beating up the other. I put the beaten up pair in the 10. Then I aquired ad 55 and thought oh yeah.. they'll be fine. Plenty of space for two pairs of rams. Yeah right. The one pair again beat up the other. I think it depends on the fish tho. Its up to you if you want to try it, but I'd say just be prepared to take one pair out. Good luck! Hope it works if you do it!

Oh mine are german blue rams by the way

Thanks for the input, i'll stick with my original plan for one pair.
