55g tank (dry dosing):

Dosing 1/2 tsp. KNO3, 1/8 tsp. KH2PO4, 1/4 tsp. K2SO4 Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Dosing CSM+B 1/8 tsp. on the other 3 days...should I go to 1/4??? Does this provide a source of iron, as the fert seller recemmonded adding iron in addition to this...I do have lots of iron in my substrate.

Water change Sunday, add prime and some calcium; 1st day of macros.Saurday = rest day.

My question is over micros/iron - do I need to dose extra iron with the CSM+B? I have leaf zone for iron, but that also has pottasium, of which I will have more than enough with the above schedule. Is it good to change up the micros with Flourish, which also has Iron in it? In other words, is my tank getting enough iron with the above dry fert schedule, or should a use the Flourish Comprenhesive or Leaf Zone as a substitute for the CSM+B from time to time? Every time I regularly use the leaf zone product, there is an imbalance. I have no algae in my tank, practically at present. I reduced my photo period to 7-9 hours, with good results.

Aponogeton Ulcaveus is turning brown...coming apart in places. Is this the natural cycle of the plant (4 weeks old) or is it a sign of a lack of iron???

Need to up the dosing to this:

3/4 tsp KNO3
3/16 tsp KH2PO4
1/4 tsp traces (CMB+B)

Every time I regularly use the leaf zone product, there is an imbalance

Doesn't matter. Plants don't care about ratios as long as there is enough of what they want. Overdosing is better to ensure there really is enough for the plants. Lack of nutrients will cause algae rather than excess amounts.

You don't need an extra source of iron. It's all in the trace mix (CMB+B).

Thanks RadaR. Eventually, I will make my own ferts. Just never makes sense on the small tanks that I use CO2 on.
