Basically here it is; My daughter loves guppies but thinks the females are dull. Recently we got 3 females with longer than average more colorful tails. She has decided to try and breed her own long tailes females, Here's the question: about how many males and females should she start with?

i'd say, three of the best males you can find, and nine of your best (long tail) females. This would be for a 20 gall tank.
otherwise, any 1:3 ratio of males to females (some say 1:2, but i think it's better to give the girls a bit more peace and quiet).

ps, i laugh at your signiature every time i see it!!!

merry.

Thanks. Guess we'll go do my daughters favorite thing and haunt the local LFS's for awhile looking for good fish.

about 2-3 females for every male :fun:
hope that helps any other questions let me know
