well the when the male and female are together the male tryes to embrace the female, even though there is no nest, but shes like terrified of him. she just runs away... actually swims away, lol. how can i make her not be afraid of him?

hmm, have you tried to just keep her in a clear breeding box that floats around the tank? that mite be a gud idea, as then she can feel safe in her box, but he will get 2 see her, and court her

Did you condition them both before you stuck them together in their tank ?

Have you tried heavily planting the tank their in, so she has loadsa of places to go off and hide in when she gets scared ?

Keep us updated on how it goes!

did it all. i was thinking maybe 3 or 4 more days of condetining. but then i was thinking, how would that make her like him?

could it be because shes small, and hes big?

Well breeding might take days to accomplish

Also u gotta leave her in the glass hurricane TILL HE MAKES A BUBBLENEST

Then she will be ready once she likes the BN (BubbleNest) then she wont be scared

but he wont make it, lol
and other said that they dont always have to have the BN to breed

Yes its true but many females preffer a bubblenest..

Is like the male showing the female LOOK WHAT I COULD DO...

U gotta give him time have u tried to transplant bubbles from another betta

That has helped me out many times...

wrs--My only suggestion would be to possibly try placing another female next to the breeding tank...if the other female sees some "competition" it may kick her into "spawning gear".

Is she still displaying bars? She may be stressed and not want to breed...I would definately keep a close eye on her.

yeah, hes flaring at her. and my brother tried the other nest, but it didnt work, and i myself have no idea how to do that. its been a week or so.

i had another female but it died, and my mom wont let us get another female, but i minght if my brother gets a new tank. so id have to wait to do that. she still has bars. shes really big though. i do think shes stressed a bit at times, but she still flares at him.

its like a troubled mariage with these two

i know she likes my brothers betta, but hes a VT

Just curious, if your mom won't let you buy 1 female betta, how will she react when you tell her you need over 50 growout jars? :dunno:

she wont care, because i dont have to buy them.
i drink alot of water, and i hvae like 5 empty bottels each day, so there ya go.

but i probly wont breed them if thses two dont workout.
my brother minght get a female though, as he has none, but that would be a VT as well

hmmm

there are times when the pair simply wotn' work. i had a pair that seemed to be just like yours. The amle woudl seem ready to embrace, but tthe female would just hide and hide and never mate :dunno:

a bn is perferable, but not absolutely necessary. in one of my spawns, the male hardly had a nest and they embraced anyways

how long has she been released inot the nest? sometimes it'll take the male quite a bit of effort to entice the female into mating. Or maybe theyr'e just nto getting the position rgiht? :X i would be patient...

but like you said it's been a week already, after a week and if nothing happens i would have just stopped the spawn and tried again with another pair :dunno:
