Funnily enough our living room doesn't get that warm. Not warm enough to heat the tanks up. If his tank does start to heat up I'll have to up the water changes and keep his tank cool. Or I could just buy a fan. Yes there is a filter in the tank, it's hidden in the side.
I have an opportunity to purchase an axolotl egg, curious as to what you consider minimum tank size to be for one - axolotl . org states 10 gal is acceptable for one, other sites say 30 gallons for one.... lol. I was curious as to what size Alex's tank is.
Sorry for the late reply. Alex's tank is 2ft long, about 12 gallons, and he'll still grow to about half it's size maybe a little bigger. With Axolotl's growing about 12" long I would say 2ft is the absolute bare minimum.
