I got fed up of the annoying noise of the gurgling/toilet sound from my weir, so decided to get a durso stand pipe (cheers ste2k3 - nice to meet you!) so took apart the well siliconed down pipe, did it all put new pipe in ect, but it leaked!!!, so took it all apart again went down to pets at home ( :*) :*) :*) ) only coz it was the only place open at 7:30 pm to get some more silcone. Did it all again, let it dry overnight, filled up the weir in the morning before work, got home and it was still leaking!!   :-( , so took it all apart AGAIN!!!, clean it all up, siliconed EVERYTHING!!!, now im waiting till tomorrow to fiil it up again. My question IS (finally) with all the stopping of the filtration/sump pump, will the tank be ok for this time with just an OR2500 spray bar to keep the water moving, was going through its norm cycle from 7:45am to 2:30pm today ie sump filtration, temp was ok all this time hold (holds a steady 25 - 26 oC) btw. But its now off again till tomorrow. how will it affect the tank for a short period. + now have a powerhead in now for more circ., not a great deal, but got the water moving abit more. will things b ok?

I'll just point out that although silicon drys within 24hrs it only truly sets within 48hrs and is fully cured in 72hrs, you should not submerge silicon untill it has cured.
This maybe the root of the leaking.

Are you siliconing the pipe together? The pipe needs to welded with solvent weld from wicks etc. I think I know which part you mean is it the actual stand pipe behind the weir? if so, then as long as the weir is sealed, the pipework dosn't need to seal, just enough to get 98% of the water through the durso at the top.

ste :)
