I have a pair of Marble Angles that have laid eggs on my amazon sword at least 5 times now. They are in a 30 gallon community tank with 3 Swords, 4 Tiger Barbs, 1 Pleco, 2 Cory cats, 2 Clown Loaches, and 2 Golden Rams. I remove the tiger barbs when they lay their eggs. The eggs have turned white every time, then the Angles eat the eggs. Could the male be immature and not capable of fertilizing the eggs? I don't know how old either Angle is. I can take a guess at 6 months but that is only a guess.

I have the same problem. I have a pair of mating angels. They are approx. 2 to 2 and a half years and have never had fertile eggs. I always assumed they were both female. But with this, do both lay eggs? Or does the "male" not make any? However, if one is male and one is female, could there be any other problems?

Hi Guys,I'm not disagreeing at all. The only thing that is weird is the Angle that lays the eggs has a tube that protrudes about 5mm long and 2mm in diameter. The other Angle has a pointed tube that protrudes about 2mm. I'm just going to the LFS and get 6-8 more Angles and put them in my other 30 gallon tank and let them pair off and see what happens. Thank you for all your help. I'm off to the fish store.Hi Guys,I'm not disagreeing at all.
