Angels And Guppys

I've read a lot of people have purchased small angel fish and let them grow up with guppys and the angels will leave them aloan ... How true is this as would like a few angels with out risk of losing my guppys

I have an angel here, he was raised with neons, guppies etc. As soon as he was large enough he started picking them off. Now as an adult he will actively hunt down and eat anything small. So while it maybe true with some, not all angels are the same, each one is an individual
