Angels Acting Wierd

Hi everyone..hope all is good..ok heres my dilemna...in January i bought 2 angels..they have been very good..they eat and swim around ever since i had them..so the other day i went to the LFS and saw some more beautiful angels and bought 3 of them..and i also bought a 38g tank..which now houses all the angels..including my first two..so i set everything up..transfered the gravel and tank water from the older tank....i topped up the new tank also..added chems too..but i still have to check water params..well anyway..all my angels are grouping together and are all huddled in one bottom corner of the tank..seems like my first two angels don't even recognize me anymore..*sniff sniff*..i'm having a feeling that i'm having some kind of spike in the water params...well i'm off to go check and get the stats back to you..

Did you swap over filter media as well? They may just be a little shy about the new surroundings... (wouldn't it be great if that's it). Best of luck and let us know what your water tests out at.

i'm back with some test results..

gh-9 degrees
kh-5 degrees

so i think everything looks normal enough..and i made an observation also..they don't like the flourescent light on *picky picky*

if i close the light on the canopy they all come out of hiding..but i still think its weird cuz the lights were always on in the LFS and they were all swimming around

oh and yes i did transfer some filter media as well into the new filter box

I have seen this happen before when fish are moved into larger surroundings. Do you have any plants/ decorations/rocks as these will help the fish come out of the corner and explore or set up territories.

hey i guess they had to get used to the new surroundings...they seem to be acting alot normal now..there all eating and exploring now..

So glad to hear that your angels are doing fine sometimes it takes time for fish to get use to new surroundings and be shy, It's like you moving in a different country, you wouldn't blend in right away, wouldn't you?//
