USA,
my brother ahs a 15gallon tank. it has 2 baby irredecent shars, and 1 baby bala shark. there like 1 inch each. and 2 of those small mollies, and 1 little guppy. he wants an angel fish but i dont think it would be good for the other fish in there as their community fish. what do u all say? my aunt said that they can be mean because she had some that were mean.

First of all tell your brother that he should either get the bala and the irridescent sharks a bigger home or send them back to the LFS cause they can reach the size of 12" and if you keep them in a 15 gallon you would stunt their growth.. A minimum size for angel fish should be in a 25 gallon that's at least 18" tall as they can reach 6".....I'd get a pair of rams or some apistogramma for that tank....

ok, thanks. he wont get rid of the fish or get a biggertank, i really want him 2 get rid of them, despite how cute the irredecents are( i only think their cute because theyre cat fish, and i love cats,lol)...so about that i dont know what 2 do, but he does want 2 get a chiclid, he wants oscars, he doesnt know that much about what kinda fish 2 get for what tank,

Oscars would most certainly not suffice in that tank. I honestly wouldnt keep a pair of oscars in anything less than a 70g.

Angels really are better off in taller aquariums. 20 highs seem to work well for a pair.

i know, i told him 2 get rid of them but noooo, and he thinks tiger oscars are smaller and theyre kept in 15 gallons at the store, so he thinks its ok. i tell him no all the time, but he wants them,

Can't you get your mother or father involved??

If he is keeping fish then he should at least be made to be responsible for keeping them healthy and well! In a 15 gallon tank.........man........I don't even know what to say

:/

Some people have to learn the hard way, it wont take long till the oscars kill off every fish in there, maybe a day or two, then they will die themselfs after about a month or two aswell.

hes definetly NOT getting oscars. they irredecnt sharks are still small, ones one inch and the others 1.5. someone that has them said that it took their IS' 11 yrs. to get to full size. in 11 yrs well both be moved out and they will definetly have a bigger tank then, in probly 10 months they will, so i dont think its that big of a problem as of now, theyre still little babies.
