My two angelfish are small and they both seem in good shape but i've heard that you should only keep one or several of these since the stronger one will make the other one miserable. Is this true? Does miserable mean death also?
I first has the 2 baby ones together ad they were fine for about 3 months, then I got a new tank and fish came with it, including 2 adult angels. The seller had these together for years with no problems and I have had no problems when adding my babies to the 2 adults.
I have two angelfish and they've been together in a 34g (note that this is a bit too small for angelfish, since it's only about 16" tall... I hope to get a 20" tall tank soonish) since they were about 2 inches long. Now, several years later, they are about 5" and 6" and still get along pretty well. They sometimes have small disputes, but never harm each other. The funny thing is that 99% of the time it's the smaller one that starts the fights.
I guess it just depends on the fish and conditions. My tank is at least 18" tall, pretty clean and they both eat a lot, so i think i'm good. I'll keep watching them as they grow though.
